Bypassing the Cat on 2.1MV HELP

Post by Justavan »

Just fitted a new set of Exhst. pipes to my 2.1 MV petrol Doka and realized I,ll need the short bypass pipe to join to the exhaust box rather than replace the cat. conv.

I know that this is a common practice but I just can't find anyone at the end of the phone that has one in stock or can tell me if they come with the fitting for the oxygen sensor.

I know Simon @ Brickworks is the man to be talking to but there's no phone number on his web site and thought it would be best to get some advise from someone who's done this mod and knows the pro's and cons to setting things up correctly.

For example the oxygen sensor fitting on the pipes I have would leave the cable connection pointing downwards and prone to be ripped off when in the rough stuff.

So what I'm looking for is the pipe to replace the Cat with a upright oxy sensor fitting and any info on tuning if needed................ :ok

Thanks for that Simon.......but not the right solution at the moment.

I have a New Exhaust box which is the shorter one for a Cat Conv. which I want to keeping in place so that the Cat can be replaced at a later date for the American emissions standards as my Doka will probably end up with a mate who lives in San Fran.

Don't want to buy another intermediate pipe and long exhaust box for now just thought you would have the 12 inch by pass pipes which might have come with a Oxy sensor fitting.

If not any idea who might have them as I've seen several 2.1's with this mod over the years..? :?:

We can get them, we just don't bother as we don't need the cat here and most people chuck them away.
How quick do you need one? we'll have another exhaust order going in soon but they take a couple of weeks from us ordering to us receiving.

Thanks for the offer Simon,

Due to the urgency to get my Doka up and running again Mc gill came to the rescue with a spare intermediate pipe which we fabricated up as a bypass pipe.
Used the Oxy Sens fitting of the knackerd CAt and all in was a real easy and quick fix.
Have ordered a new Oxy sensor from your Web Shop and should be up and running again as soon as it arrives.

Once again many thanks for your offer of help and no doubt will be looking for bits and pieces again.......... :ok
