Seam sealer and/or filler?

Post by 81AirCooled »

Hi, I've had some welding done on the outer panels and have covered the spots up with primer for now on to bare metal. I was advised by the welder to close the remaining gaps with seam sealer and to paint straight over that but the welds aren't brilliant and i'd like to make it all look a bit smoother. Can I apply filler on top of the seal and sand smooth or can I get a good finish with the sealer alone and paint on top of that as advised?

Is Sikaflex 221 is the one to use?

could you post a picky up of one of the areas, then i can better advise you, but either way do NOT put filler on top of any sort of sealant
