Can anyone share there views with me on hi-lift jacks/farm jacks, what is the difference between them as prices are all over the place?
Is it worth spending 100 pounds on one or are those to half the price just as good for us and our needs??
its a bit of a jungle
Anyone had one of the cheap ones fail on them??
Hi-Lift is original American, Jack-All is Canadian rip off both made to high standard, forged beams etc. , spare parts available, accesories too that fit
FarmJack is Chinese made, lower rated and feel well flimsy and even wobblier in operation, how well the accessories fit I'm not sure but you want the jacking point extension (land rover adapter) to fit well
I bought a chinese one about 5 years ago (£25 new I think). Its kept outside on the roof rack all year and when I need to jack a van up it does its job, I even use it as a vice for compressing brake calipers and things too. If I would have spent £100+ on a jack it would do the same as my cheap one for the things I use it for, like lifting a van up for example.
Personally when it comes to jacks you kinda get what you pay for I have a Hi-lift and its excellent although I have heard good stuff about the Canadian ones I wouldn't trust a £25 chinese copy after all you only get one chance if they fail !!
