Waxoyl-ing next weekend
I'll be Waxoyl-ing the underside of our van next weekend in prep for the winter. Just wondering, is father here any thing underneath which I shouldn't touch with the stuff, or is it fine to treat the whole lot?

"Just wondering, is father here any thing underneath"
I don't know - is father here?
That must be one of the most cryptic questions asked this week!

Fecking auto-correct!
This should have read: 'Is there anything underneath...'
(but you knew that anyway

Re: Waxoyl-ing next weekend
Anyone got any idea whether it's OK to treat the whole underside?

Yes i did but avoid the exhaust system and take care near the brake pads/discs etc. Apart from that clean and cover owt that'll rust.

Re: Waxoyl-ing next weekend
Just been doing the same to the underside of our van whilst I was replacing balls joints and welding some bits etc. I always start off trying to be as neat as possible but then in the end just slap it on all over the place (obviously missing out the obvious parts mentioned already)
Whilst running the risk of teaching to suck eggs, I would also suggest:
Goggles
The van used slightly more than one of the large tins (2.5L)
White spirit ‘cos it gets everywhere (on me)
When doing wheel arches work from the bottom up as otherwise you run the risk of getting a load of it in your hair
Including wire brushing and sorting out corrosion which I found along the way it took me 2 full days

Cheers for the tips. Will avoid the exhaust system for sure - didn't know that before so really appreciate the help.

Nope.
Finished ours about half an hour ago, shame people can't see all the hard work!

Do you HAVE to spray it on? Is an old paint brush ok to use? You've got me keen to do this now!!

Re: Waxoyl-ing next weekend
I used a brush on mine and sprayed those hard to reach areas. Just stand the tub of Waxoyl in warm water to loosen it up a little, i think it can also be thinned with white spirit if required.
