ignition coil

Post by baldiebird »

I have a 2L CU Aircooled van. Yesterday it strarted cutting out when warm. I suspect the coil to be at fault.
I am going camping this evening and have tried to get one from my local autoparts seller.Unfortunately he did not have the correct part but has instead sold my a "standard ignition coil" whatever that is! for £10. He seems to think it will be alright to use this to get me out of trouble until I can obtain the correct part.
Is he correct or have I just been fed a huge "pooh" Sandwich!.

Cutting out when warm is also a weak mixture or an air leak.

Running slightly rich on Dellortos so I am convinced that's not the problem, but thanks for the reply.
