my 2lt Aircooled 1981 t3
is ideling high when warm and it seems that the choke isnt working
any ideas

Check connections at chokes, and make sure they're live, (12ishV), when the ignition is on. If all is good with those, then the choke units aren't working or possibly have become detached from the linkages inside the choke housing.

checked that i was getting 12v to the choke(all good)
so i adjusted the choke by turning the front choke covers and restarted
it sounds like the choke was on for a little while then the revs slowed down to normal tick over
so i think its done but as we all know that wont be the end of it.

Recently had high idle speed caused by grommit that holds c shape pin to throttle spring had popped out making spring slack and not allowing carb rev arm thingy( sry not a mechanic) to return to its natural place of rest...Worth a check!!
