Transmission Oil Change

Post by Ian_Fearn »

Which parts of the Syncro transmission need their oil changing. I'm planning on doing this job ASAP.

NB before dropping the old oil ensure that the fillers will open.
Gear oil GL4 rear, you can put GL5 in the front.
Examine the debris on the drain plug, a finger end size ball of fur is normal at 100k, big bits are more worrying.
Access is pants, you need a mate and tubes to refill, and you can't drain all the old oil except on the bench.
Enjoy

Syncro forum has a few more details but thats about it... front takes 1.5 litres, back about 3.5 I think, not quite right up to filler when level on transaxle ( so its said)
