can someone explain their function and where i can get some replacements ?

You don't need them.

So you can remove any of them that remain.
They are for colder climate and create a warm air assist to reduce carb icing.

Hello,

As kev says these are not vital to you..

Find jam jar or similar lids and mastic them over the holes in the tinware and the underside of the air cleaner.

Make sure the flexies on the air cleaner are in good condition.
