Coolant Temperature sender

Post by The Bishop »

While invetsigating my oil leak I have discovered that there is coolant dripping from my Coolant Temperature Sender at the back of the thermostate. Ther appears to be a rubber seal which has deteriorated by I also know that there was some around my thermostat when I replaced that so wonder if it is a seal or someone us used some sort or sealant.

What is the usual procedure for sealing the sender to the metal block? It is a slide in one rather than a screw in one.

Thanks

The thermostat housing is plastic
the temp sender and temp 2 sender to No1 relay are sealed with an O ring and retaining clip

All these are available from Brickwerks
AGG 2.0L 8V. (Golf GTi MkIII)
