Removing the top

Post by mariner »

Hi all. Does anyone have any experience fo removing the fibre glass top off the van? Thinking of a respray but may need to remove the roof (it says EMC on it) to get it in the garage! Had a look and can't see any obvious fittings -is it just glued on? Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers.

Ive just done this job last month on mines - Was a reimo fibreglass hitop - mines had about five layers of cruddy sealant added by various owners over the years - no screws bolts or anything else.
After I got it off, sanded and painted it I stuck it back on with marine grade sikoflex.

that was the easy bit - fixing the rust around the guttering/roof that was revealed was the much more complex job

Cheers Andy. It looks like it's just been bonded so good to hear to hear yours was the same. Not looking to what I might find underneath now, though!
