Can't stand the 1.9 DG standard lump no more so going over to summat else but wnat economy too. Ruled out diesel too much faffing but still wanting economy so gonna go gas. Flip up now between 5 cylinder audi or Subaru. Pros i'm looking for are good torque, higher revving, cost, simplicity to fit (wanna keep it under standard engine cover too!) and economy. 5 speed box fitted at mo but don't know if i'll change that if need be. Whos done either or both and which is prefered now? Taking 3 months gathering parts etc so no rush like... :lol:

my van was diesal and now is subaru

i know nothing but:

apperently the 4 speed box works better with it.

Thanx steve, i was wondering that but someone who had done it said they fitted it to a diesel bellhousing which laid it over fitted a different sump n scavenger pipe but i cant help feeling that sounds too awkward n prefer a gassed scooby lump... :?
