Both cab windows struggling to open!

Post by Lynne »

This is odd. Cab windows have both opened fine since we had the van. Husband has changed front speakers today and now both windows crank open sounding like an old football rattle! This happens to about a third open and then they open ok and smoothly! Hubby refuses to believe that him changing the speakers can be connected to the issue but it seems too much of a coincidence! The only other thing that has happened is that we cleaned Hugo last night with a hose but surely both windows wouldn't have a problem at the same time? When opening and closing the top third of the windows it feels like the handles will snap. They do like to confuse these vdubs!!! Any ideas?

The new speakers are catching somewhere, when he's not looking snip the speaker wires that go between main body and door. He will then take a look to find out what's wrong and when the speakers are out check the windows while he's looking!

if hes fitted the speakers in the upper position then as you have i think manual winders , then the tail of the winder rack wrasps around the top and front of the aperature where he placed the speaker, easy fix

Well, he wouldn't accept from me it could be the speakers that caused the issue but once I told him
What you guys had said he took the speakers out and hey presto!! Thanks!!

I don't think he knows himself! He said he undid the screws in the speaker, tried the window and it worked OK. He has fastened the speakers back up and all seems well. He says the screws in the new speakers are bigger than the old ones so he will change them over tomorrow. Hopefully it won't cause another issue :|
