OK - need some advice please guys....have done this trip many times in a fast car.
However, in a T25 1.6TD....how long from Calais (in one hit) via peage with brief stops? 11-12hrs? More?
*If* it does become a never-ending autoroute dynasty, is there anywhere along that route (via Troyes), that people can recommend if I decide that Chamonix is too far, & decide to pull the plug part-way?
I only have a 6 days to play with, hence the reason for trying to blast there....

Apparently the 536 mile journey will take 8h20mns (526 mls on the motorway) at a cost of 171 Euros.

Re: Calais - Chamonix
took me 12 hours from Calais to Chamonix in my van when it had a 1.7d in. I cruised at 55-60mph all the way (on tolls roads all the way too).
As i was on my own, i had plenty of break's - including a couple of hours kip.
That was a while ago (2007 maybe) and in winter - but i doubt the tolls have changed....
Good luck

We drove to samoen in June but stopped in Troyes on the way, there's a aire not far from the autoroute and a really nice campsite, took us about fours to Troyes from Calais at 55/60. I wanted to enjoy the alps drive

we stopped of just south of Dijon at a place called merley les fussy at a french passion vinyard on the way back ( WOW ) what a fantastic spot in the middle of the vines.
So we left at 9am yesterday and got back to newcastle at 1.30 am this morning around 725 miles i was ficked to say the least.
but i have today to my self before i go back to work tommorrow.I will try and put some pictures up in a day or two of the french passion vinyards we stayed of at on the way down and back.

Re: Calais - Chamonix....UPDATED
....so, I can tell you....
10hrs 45min.
105km/h on the flat, & then whatever I could squeeze out on the hills.
3 stops, including 1 for lunch.
Mammoth drive, but so worth it when you're down there.
