huge oil leak.help please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hello all.
i recently sold my 1600 Aircooled very reluctantly,but took it back as it developed a rather large oil leak.
anyway, it is leaking between the engine and gearbox,causing the new clutch i fitted to slip again.
i was told it is a knackered crank teaing up the crank oil seal. is it possible to do this? as it runs fine and does not knock or bang.
any info greatly appreciated. many thanks.

Check your crank end float One of my Bays developed the same thing after I changed the clutch I seam to remember something about "Shims" being used. Cant remember details. Some one will I expect.
