leisure battery
Hi everyone.
Can anyone one help me? My fridge does not seem to be working via leisure battery, i have my leisure battery linked to my van battery with fuse in between. Fuse is in tact, but fridge not getting cold. Earlier today i had leisure battery on charge and connected to fridge, fridge was working, when i disconnected charger and left fridge connected to leisure battery it did not seem to work. Do i need a new battery.

Re: leisure battery
Your fridge should not work from your leisure battery. On 12v it should only work when your engine is running. And then it does not get that cold.

But what happens if you are camped up with no outside power supply can you not use your fridge?
Re: leisure battery
Most folk have 3 way fridges and run on gas when parked up.If no hook up is available.

Re: leisure battery
You run it from the gas supply.
And it sounds like your leisure battery has gone to meet it's maker.

Just to clarify for you = Your average camper van fridge pulls about 7 or 8 amps from a 12 volt battery (this about twice as much as leaving your headlights on) and so most batteries would be flat pretty darn quickly.

Re: leisure battery
I thought the 12v supply only really fires up the fan at the back of the fridge to keep the cold air circulating. Or not?
