Post by Tony Tone »

Cant believe it..... one of mine has just broken, just above the washers where it joins the lower wishbone. Has anyone else has one of these go ?, are they easily replaced ?

That's the brute, snapped on the threads at the top leaving the bushed etc in place and the top bit dangling about on the end of the arb. Presumably the eye on the link is big enough to pull off the end of the arb ?.

It comes off easier than the new bush goes back on, loads of lubrication and a bit of brute strength required and you'll be ok.

Is it straightforward enough to do with the roll bar still attached to the van ?

Yip..lube it :lol:it can help if you attach a pair of grips hard up to the link and it will act as a stop/hinge and grab hold of the broken link and pull it away and off
then dig into your pocket £££££
mm :ok

Depends. If the threaded part has snapped off, drill and tap the droplink to take a new length of studding.

No need cov kid. Got the old link off today and bashed the broken thread, bushes and sleeve out just as my new bits were delivered. But thats another story, refitting them
