Tailgate gas struts snapped off at ball joint

Typical, the gas struts have broke. They look like they were so rusty at the ball joint end that they have snapped off.

Unfortunatley this means I have no ball joint left to attach a new gas strut. Anyone know where I can get new ball joints, and how do I attach them on. Or if they are easy enough to get hold of, what size do I need.

Looks like they just screw into the tailgate, so should be easy to replace.

As to where to get replacements, try the breakers yard, lots of cars use the same type of ball joints, hopefully you'll find one that fits.
