Airlock somewhere twixt tank and water tap?

Post by Moyners »

Hello again,

I've got water in my tank, pump is operating but no water.

Previous owner did empty the tank before van had it's last service and thinks there's now an airlock.

Anyone got any tips?

My first thought was to get a sink plunger to the tank filler cap but plunger is far too big.

Cheers.

I have had to resort to the sucking method  - Run the pump at the same time as sucking on the open tap. Ideally with a tank the pump should be as close to the tank as possible so that the water naturally flows to it - unless you are posh like some people and have a self priming one! :)

When I was out packing the van for tomorrow's trip I also tried a quick suck on the tap, (I did check that no neighbours were passing by first).

Sadly no joy - I will try again after I get the chance to put some (more) water in the tank to make sure I'm not being an a***.
