Would it be very crazy to replace my worn out JX with an AEF, and keep the turbo?
I've been offered a good freebie AEF and have read up on what's involved to convert, but I'm wondering whether I'd get away with retaining the (nearly new) JX turbo, manifolds and injection pump?
AEF engine is normally aspirated only. 1.9D cast onto the block means the materials won't take the higher temperatures of a turbo engine.
The JX injection pump is not suitable without a load of work, but if you can't use the turbo, then not a lot of point trying.

I just noticed that my JX block has 1.6D cast onto the block, does that mean it shouldn't have a turbo either?
