Rusty Fuel Filler Pipe

Post by Hairyface »

Hi all,

I was hoping you could help out. I have a rusty fuel filler pipe on my syncro and was hoping to order a replacement. Checked with Brickwerks and Just Kampers but both have said they don't stock, although Brickwerks did say he was hoping to have s/s pipes in a couple of weeks.

Is there another source who stock these or am I best waiting on Brickwerks. Van is in for mot at the moment and garage said he can't do any weldin until fuel leak is fixed.

Cheers

Long standing problem. In short term not too bad too remove, clean, solder or braze a thin tinned sheet over it, usually gone very thin where it touches the flitch just after exiting the snorkel box and turning along the top of the chassis top-hat. May have pinholes, so attack with twist knot brush in likely areas to reveal full extent of the problem

If there was ever a bit in need of galvanising this is it, weld up the pin holes and get it zinc dipped to make it last forever.
