vanagon fuel filter?

Post by cascais »

ive just got my vanagon on the road after many months sorting out registration,it started up fine all the months it wasnt on the road never missed a beat. Now im able to have her on the road its started to play up,typical!!One morning my wife went out to use it and it refused to start,i thought mabye it was out of petrol so put some in,after many attempts it fired up but when you put the acc pedal down it cut out, like it was running out of petrol.Once it gets going she runs fine, will go all day with no probs, but in the morning same prob wont start.fuel pump seems fine, elecs seem ok,so im going to change the fuel filter, mine is the box type, and all the online stores only sell the normal looking filters. Will it be ok to replace my fuel filter with the ones they sell in just campers,or gsf ones. Its got 1.9 digijet petrol engine.
