t25 engine r.i.p

Post by franklyn123 »

hello all, this is a bit of a plea for help. i purchased my t25 carthago conversion through this very site about a few years ago and use it daily. i recently had a respray and things were all rosey until today on the m25, i think the engine died. its a water cooled 1.6 turbo diesel left hand drive and I'm not ready to call it a day, i am however totally ignorant mechanically. do any folk on here have any idea where i should go now. i have found a site selling new built engines for £1300.00. obviously fitting on top. i am sure i have read in the past some subaru engines fit the bill. i need to get it sorted within a couple of weeks and i am reasonably desperate. i would be grateful for any advice. ray

surely if you need it soring asap just stick another new or s/h 1.6td or try to get a decent aaz or even a 1z tdi. if you wanted to change fuel type, 2.0 agg golf gti engine as you have all the diesel bits needed for this conversion. cannot help with where to get it done though.

First of all, what mileage on your engine?

What makes you think its dead?

What symptoms, telltale signs were there prior to it dying, oil light, coolant light? What exactly happened on the M25? What did the recovery guy say ?
