I know I'm looking for some standard green ones for the rear, and I am assuming you have been testing a set you recently procured  what do you know?

I know I need a rear spring with green marking due to a snapped pig tail, and that I have set of the brickwerks ones on the front which seem to be ok so far.

well double violet fronts and double green rear o/e spec springs are available with simon. so thats straight forward enough. but i`ve got a set of tripple pink fronts here and i`ve heard talk of other colour markings. after doing a bit of a search i couldn`t find any info. so did vw / steyr fit different spec springs.

if there were different colours what exactly were the differences. spring diameter? number of coils? height?

was hoping the thread may expand and be a goo source of referance.

Could it be that the guy who painted the springs was colour blind?

Sure I replied to this?

The springs we have are Suplex branded and are sourced in Germany.
We are told that they are made by the OE supplier to VW.
Spidan is a brand of GKN, and I have it on good authority that Spidan springs are simply reboxed Suplex items.
So, Suplex or Spidan is going to be the same thing.
I've seen fronts with 1,2 or 3 paint marks with no rhyme or reason as to what got what.
There are other brands that list synchro springs but I'm thinking that some maybe cataloging errors.
Suplex and Spidan do supply the correct mini block spring as factory, same can't be said of some other brands.
Do you have TecDoc Lee?
There is a fair bit of spring info there.
I wouldn't take it all as gospel it's riddled with errors but on the whole it's quite useful.
