Coniston Hall campsite for walking the Old Man of Consition and sampling the local real ale (Coniston Bluebird Brewery)
Wasdale for the most stunning and mountainous location in the Lakes. Numerous choice of fells, Scafell Pike, Yewbarrow, Pillar, Kirk Fell, Great Gable, Illgil Head etc etc Wasdale Head Inn too

Gillside Farm Campsite at Glenridding. For walking Helvellyn, place fell, dollywaggon pike etc or taking a boat on ullswater, or taking a boat to Howtown and walking back on the lakeshore path. Pubs in glenridding too

You also get to navigate the Kirkstone Pass
Borrowdale near Keswick is stunning too. A few campsites to chose from

Langdale is also stunning. National trust site at the head of the valley. 3 pubs nearby (Old and New Dungeon Ghyll and Stickle Barn). langdale Pikes for walking, or Bowfell, Crinkle crags or just a stroll alongside the nearby 1 in 3 pass to the beautiful Blea Tarn that you can walk to and round in about 1 hour
If national trust site is full then Chapel Stile campsite at the beginning of the valley is good too. Nearby wainwright inn and Britannia Inn at Elterwater. Good walks from there to head of Langdale valley, or along the river by elterwater lake to Skelwith Force. or even a walk up Loughrigg fell
