depends on your engine / year of van. but yes in theory the wire goes straight to the rev counter

86 onward vans with BOD have the wire fitted . ( coil negative) on petrol (w) on diesel

the wire runs to the dash for the buzzer

Do you have any more details? I have an 86 van thats been converted from petrol to diesel and I would like to get the rev counter working. How do I tell if my cluster is correct??
