Centre consoles?

Post by geordie skydiver »

Hi,

What centre consoles do people have out there?

Home made or bought?

Pictures anyone?

It a 1980 Westy LHD, and I'm going to Sweden/Norway for a couple of weeks, and a centre console with storage space and drinks holders would be a bonus.

Even if I have to make it myself, I just want some ideas....

Do you mean between the driver and passengers seat?

If so, I wouldn't want anything there because it would get in the way of the chairs swivelling and getting to the back of the van.

If you mean dash tidy's with drinks holders then I've got a black lhd one I keep meaning to put on ebay.....

Hello,

we have just returned from a big trip (see my post!) and we wouldn't have coped without our centre storage thing.

I bought a black folding box thing from Lakeland (just looked, they don't seem to have them any more unfortunately) but it had a non-slip base and fitted lovely between the seats - perfect for storing maps/rough guides/sweets/bottles of water/etc.

It did get ripped to shreds in one corner because it caught on the captains chair every time it was swivelled - and is already on it's last legs, but we couldn't have done without it.

The husband is now under orders to make something as a replacement - it would have to be low enough to avoid the captains chair issue, would need cup holder facilities, and potentially a lid - to keep out prying eyes while you are away from the van.

I'm not helping though am I?

:D
