t25 1.9 dg

can any one advise on daugthers t25 as it looks like the water jacket gasget is leaking she took it to a vw expert and they say it needs anew engine
if so any suggestions 1.9 dg engine they said the head bolt may have broken due to corrosion and will need a diamond drill to re drill?

The waterjacket seals can be replaced but it's a big job if a stud's broken in low down and tight. People often fit a reconditioned engine in this situation, if you are reasonably handy with the spanners it's not a huge task to swap an engine out.

Try a search of the Wiki techy page and this forum and you'll see the other jobs which could/should be done at the same time ... mounts, clutch, spigot bearing etc etc :(

thanks ian my daughter has been given a price for a exchange engine for £1500 the engine hase done 124000 miles phil

A VW Elite 'recondition' engine is ~£1000 fitted in Essex with a 2 year warranty, they do a collect/deliver service BUT please do a search of the word Elite so you can form your own opinion.
