South wales trip - ideas and suggestions please

Post by doivey »

Hey there folks,

Loooking to embark on a week long trip from Bristol around South wales stopping somewhere on the way then spending most time in Pembrokeshire I think, then up to as far as Aberystwyth, before heading back inland and stopping somwhere on the way back to Briz.

So any recommendations as to where to stay? Any good driving roads ? Anything amazing to do in that part of this world that shouldn't be missed?

I think on the way out I will not want to stay on the Gower as have been there tenting a few times before.

Looking for chilled campsites, just me and my girlfriend going, ideally allowing fires in some places, not too many people. nice pubs countryside, sea all that jazz.

Yay Summer holidays !

Plenty of flat areas :ok

Look at this OS map. Porthclais is marked with the arrow and you can see that you can walk the coast path right round to PSt Justinian or beyond then easily walk back the site via St Davids

Tenby was also nice. We stayed a few miles away on the coast path at new hedges but wished we had stayed here http://meadowfarmtenby.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; as it was minutes to the beach and the town

You could try Foxholes campsite in Bishops Castle or Fleese meadow at Kington for the trip back from Abber both nice sites and close to small towns with good pubs.

Cheers Simon and Cruz, all good suggestions, it's always nice to have peoples opinions.

Keep them coming if you can.
