Seeing as I need a new system for my 1.9DG Syncro, I was planning on getting the stainless steel system from Brickwerks, then up popped this one above/below.
It don't mention Syncro in the advertisement so thought I better double check.

It's a nice bit of kit, I bought a s/h one recently that needed repair for the superboxer. The silencer is hung on a tiny tab and it creates so much local stress that it cracks the can. I think that it should fit ok as it doesn't pass under the engine/ bellhousing, so no engine bar interference problems.
Might be a bit tight if yours has the oil/water interwarmer fitted (smaller filter required)
Are they available from stock again? They were on back-order.

They are back in stock since May of this year, but limited numbers.
My Syncro does not have the oil/water interwarmer as standard, but has a defa oil warmer fitted which are used by all cars here due to the cold winters.
So should be good to go then. Will check what my insurance actually coughs up for my claim, and see what I have left, as ideally I would like Mr Baxters, but @200 more, and 8 weeks waiting time aint no good to me as my exhaust is falling to bits, and our MOT test thing is due next month, so running out of time.

IIRC all syncros had the oil "cooler/warmer" even the 1.9dg's what Ian is refering to is the one mounted between the oil filter and case.. has coolant passing through it..
the speedshop system is like the early style 2wd system, but witht he pipes in the wrong place so the oil filter is tight..
Oh right, that's something I was not sure about, well, if all Syncros had this, then a photo may help me identify it?
Anyone?
Thanks for letting me know. I think ateotd I will go with Mr Baxters ss system then, I know 8 weeks is a long time, but I could patch the leak I have for the mot.

Look at the last pic on the speedshop page, it shows the engine fitted with a short Polo(?) oil filter to clear the pipes on the nearside (right of pic) so it's one with a VW so-called oil cooler fitted, so it's a 2.1 2wd or a syncro.
