Won't Start!

Post by shaky »

Hi all,

I have my a/c 1600CT engined camper at the local garage at the moment. (An exhaust stud sheered in the head and that is a job beyond me). The garage has sorted this, but now have rung to tell me it won't start.

All a bit strange as the ignition has never given me trouble, a recent new battery is up to the job, and the ignition on these things is pretty bullet proof so I've been told.

I am sure that the garage will soon get to the bottom of this but has anyone any tips as to the likely culprit?

There is fuel, the starter whizzes round fine and all wires are connected to where they should be.

Thanks for any ideas,

Paul.

A good thought, it is unlikely to have broken so it could well be the wire. The garage reckon it could be the distributor but I'm suprised it would just fail with no indication. I'll suggest take a look at the earth and go from there,

thanks,

Paul.

You were right Ian.... It was an earth.

On the way home from the garage it did it again.... Loose wires on the disributor....

I've never had ignition trouble before but I guess that if the garage was messing about things will get disturbed.

I'll be making sure all contacts are good and tight before I put all the kit back in the van!

B.T.W Now I find I have the oil pressure light on all the time and the ignition light not at all!!

Ta,
