in the process of removing my trailing arms and getting the rear hubs off them, i have manages to get some foreign material ( very most likely rust chunks) in my bearings. i have removed and degreased them and was planning to refit them as they were only done a couple of years ago but am now concerned that if i cant get the foreign objects out, then i might be storing up trouble for the not to distant future.
how do i go about ensuring that they are void of anything other than grease?

WHS^^ freshen up the petrol, blast with airline, and if still unsure , ask Ashley to have a look. Works for me

Re: rear wheel bearings question
well i ordered 4 new seals from BW on friday with the knowledge that the bearings were fine and intending just to clean and repack them before i put the whole thing back together. i am starting to think that it might be worth just getting new ones, but it seems like a waste if the existing ones are fine.

Re: rear wheel bearings question
If you have any doubt, replace them. Just because its always going to be in the back of your mind is enough reason!
