Sliding Door Handle Lock Removal

Hi all,

I have taken the locks from all my handles to get them cleaned and painted/coated (not sure which im going for)
I cant seem to get the lock out of the sliding door handle, can anyone help its an 82 van.

Mines is a B plate and had a large "Phillips" type screw securing it behind the trim inside the door
I know Hee-Haw about vans so go easy on me chaps :)

No he means actually getting the lock mechanism (ie barrel) out of the actual handle. I'm not posting cos I know answer, just keeping thread on track :D

sure do, the locks came out of the other handles quite easily, not sure with this there dosent seem to be a screw or clip to undo and I dont want to break it.

If its any help I also had cause to remove the same handle on mine a week ago. I did notice a small white plug on one side. Perhaps its a screw covered over with some sealer?

Hiya nope looked there its a cutout enabling access to a spring I just cant seem to see how to remove the sliding bar to remove the lock without a major impact adjustment, and if its not the right way its gonna brake.

looks like a plan, and my god is the screw hard to find took me a while before i noticed it, but like the man says it takes a bit of digging.

Thats the one I found (mentioned above), only in my case it was sealed with some white mastic
