New water pump has an extra port

Hi there just recieved a new water pump in the post today and hoping to have it fitted before the weekend, just been comparing it to my existing one and the new one has a tapping on the top that is tapped and open whereas the one on my van just has the moulding but its not open.
Balls! I take it this is for an oil cooler of which i dont have, no plug supplied either.
Its a circoli one from euro car parts, budget i know but thats all i can afford.
Just wanted to confirm really what that tapping is for as they list a totally different pump for the 2.1, can take a pic if it helps.

I had an extra threaded hole on my new water pump..tried lots of bolts I found in my garage but could not find exactly the right fit. I took pump to my local bolt suppliers who told me instantly the thread is metric fine and supplied a bolt for next to nowt
