special clip's / catch's any idea's
im putting this in here cos us syncro owner's are more likely to use some thing like this!
basically i want some sort of quick release fixing that can hold an item down on to a flat surface, flush, and not have big sticky out bit's !
for instance a cooker housed in a box that goes on a flat table, and i want to be able to move it out side etc
cheer's

Unwins do a low profile seat rail. You could attach something like this...http://www.mudstuff.co.uk/Cargo_Trackin ... owns.shtml" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: special clip's / catch's any idea's
I can recommend the Unwin tracking mentioned above. I have installed four lengths of tracking into my floor which now allows me to fit or remove my centre row of seats in seconds, and can then be used for securing temporary loads. The cooker installation (presently under construction) will likewise secure in seconds for travelling and easily transfer to the awning when on site.

I doubt that mudstuff have their own brand but there are some generic rails out there. You'll have to fit some fastners to the cooker then lock/unlock to the Unwin rail.

Was going to say... I'm in the process of building a Terra Camper style interior out of square aluminium tube and I'm going to use rails to secure the whole lot in place.

Re: special clip's / catch's any idea's
The equipment that you see in my photos above is genuine Unwin. However, the MUD tracking is identical so could be interchanged. The seats are clamped down with clamps similar to this...........

A pull and twist on the knob, slide a half inch or so, and lift the seat out. Easy peasy. The allen screws shown in the pic are used to bolt your seat or other equipment to the clamp.
One thing to bear in mind is that the knob mechanism actually tightens the clamp to the floor. Some of the simpler clips just attach the item but do not clamp. I can tell you now, driving a minibus with a full set of seats where the clamps have not been tightened properly is worse than Chinese water torture! Talk about rattles!

Re: special clip's / catch's any idea's
thanks
where's the best price on unwin? don't really have any decent breaker's round here!!
have you got any pic's of the camper you are doing ? sound's good ! do you mean your using the unwin to fix it down?
my van is used for everything so this sort of thing would be great!
im after mounting a single pass seat to my double front seat base so i can change out the two, and also be able to turn the single seat around to face the rear but i can't be bothered with swivel's etc

Seen it on ebay cheap. No pics at the moment as I've just cut the tubes. Will post when it's a bit further along.
