rev counter options
Given that most T25's have a fairly useless analogue clock to the right of the speedo (digital stick-on clock makes more sense really) and T25 dash pods with rev counters go for ridiculous money (and i MEAN ridiculous), surely there HAS to be a rev counter amongst all the VW range that would fit in there and still retain the fuel/temp guages. Either that or dash clocks that could be adapted to fit in the same spot?
Anyone else looked at this issue? Clearly there are advantages in having a rev counter but there must be other ways to do it rather than pinning down the OE equipment.

early passat is similar but not identical. There's a rev counter dash on ebay at the mo for a tenner, which seems pretty good value to me.
Easiest alternative is an aftermarket, but they are all for engines that do 6000+ rpm and aren't a lot of good in a low revving van like ours. German ebay is often cheaper and no difference between l and rhd dash

That would be the broken one that started at a tenner and went for £47 plus £15 p&p!!! WHO in their right mind paid THAT much??? Passat dash worth looking at though....

Just found this:

This is my point. Unless you're a purist, the T25 clocks are so naff (agree with him on that). This guy perhaps went a lot further than I'd go (the Mazda master cyclinder for one) but you have to admit its much better to look at

i'm seriously tempted with these, i wanted to replace the dash lights for blue ones anyways
can someone confirm this will work in the 87 1.6TD van, that is the rev counter part of it
