Mechanic Surrey for a Newbie

Post by Simpsonstu »

Hi Folks,

Just returned after picking up a T25 '83 which needs lots doing to it. I decided having driven it that my priorities would be mechanics and bodywork with the rest later.

However the problem is I've contacted about 4 of the more well known VW T25 specialists asking for them to have a look and see what needs doing, no one ever gets back to me! Obviously these guys are busy, and live a fair distance so there is no point just turning up, assuming it would get me there!

Anyone know a reliable guy/firm who would be happy to do the work for me without me constantly chasing them, even if they are busy, letting me know they'll get back to me is a start. Not criticising just someone who will do an honest job , timescale to suit them.

I'm just North of Guildford in Bagshot, if anyone knows a man, it would be greatly appreciated !

Cheers apologies if this question has been asked elsewhere too!

Stu

Thanks mate I sent Simon a message earlier, all his adverts say water cooled only, so not being up on the differences, I don't know if he is interested. I hope so because he seems to have a good reputation.

Cheers Stu

the only other local place i know of is airfix http://www.cylex-uk.co.uk/company/v-w-a ... 42512.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; he's a Aircooled specialist. i have never used him though and i've heard mixed reviews
If its just engine and mechanical work i would call Tony Hines http://www.yell.com/b/Tony+Hines+V.W+Au ... index.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; He used to work on my beetle, and is a bloody good mechanic
