Was quite an eventful trip down to the village of Eype where we planned to stay for 3 nights. On the Saturday morning before we left home, whilst doing the normal engine checks I noticed a hairline crack on the fuel pump feed pipe, so off to halfords for new hoses. Connected up, checked all joints, all done.
So we load up Dwigle and head out onto the open road...
10 minutes out onto A roads and it's apparent something's not quite right. He's sluggish, kangarooing, there's no power in 4th gear, and the slightest incline means doing 30 in 3rd and 30 in 2nd on steeper slopes.
So anyway, we arrive at Eype with a visible throbbing vein on my forehead and we set up - I think to myself - 'why's he playing up? what did I do?? And how could replacing fuel lines cause a problem? Off to the pub...
...and after a couple of pints I realise the obvious - those plastic 'hard' fuel lines which run into the engine bay, aren't really that hard, are they? So back to the Dwigle, remove pipes, check for blockages and then re-tighten just enough so they're on, but not 'f***ing on' to use the technical term. Anyway, for the next 5 days he runs perfectly, and I feel lime an idiot for the self inflicted pain of the journey down to the coast.
Cliff top pitch at Eype

Down the hill from the site you get the beach leading to the village

Not a bad little site

Given the forecast for 25mph winds, we move on to Linwood in the Forest and even manage to get the BBQ out on Tuesday night

Linwood and surrounding walks

We highly recommend the 'High Corner Inn' which is about an hours walk from Linwood across country and their totally amazing Forest Pie and Chips!
