identifying engine codes,sdi/iy etc HELP!!!

hi there people, unsure wot diesel engines i can use on my t25

people telling me 1y an easy upgrade but struggling to find

not seeing many for sale but how do u identify these engine codes?

ive seen a few vw caddy engines but unsure i can use

code on engine is 028103021AF / 27j90 this is 1900 sdi ???

every good engine is hundereds of miles away so carnt just nipp and view

any advice on what to look for / alternative fitments etc
