I've been slowly refitting the van and installing a new interior. Its getting there and I've been trying to sort out some niggles and upgrades as I go. I've found this forum and its members fantastic so far and couldnt have got this far without the information offered here so heres another one...
My dash lights haven't worked for ages now. I've sepnt all day trying to trace the fault and failed

So heres what I've found:
Right hand fuse above the fuse box is for the dash lights. The left hand side of it has 2 wires coming from it, and appears to be Earthed as it gives a continuity to earth - just in typing that now that I'm not with the van it doesnt seem right??
The headlights work fine regardless of the sate of play in the dash pod.
The connection between the fuse and pin 58b on the headlight/dimmer switch is good.
The switch has been swapped with a know and proven good one and mine tested in a known and good van. The switch is fine. My van is not.
Pin 58 is variable depending on the dimmer position.
The fuse blows when the currnet passes out of this dimmer.
It still does this when the 'pod' is not attacehd.
The circuit board on the 'pod' seems to be in good condition with no damage obvisious.
The three bulbs have all been tested in a known good van and work.
The bulb in the heater panel was blown. Now replaced.
