Fitting 15" Alloys

There is no PCD/bolt/wheel adaptors that can bolt on to standard studs to allow alloy wheel fitting without destroying bearings?
Hate to destroy bearings to find I could of.........

ProjektZwo did the Ronal 7 x 15 alloys as an after market wheel but I dont know if they needed a stud change although I doubt it. A ProjektZwo alloy is possibly different to a standard Ronal alloy. I have both and with the Ronal alloy I get 6 turns of the nut but with the ProjektZwo I get 8 turns of the nut. I put the long studs on anyway because I felt it was better but that was my choice.

i used delta mics merc ml spacers on my van...22mm thick and do need the back of the wheel to have cutouts for the top bit of the nuts holding them on...i had to open the holes up a smidge on my ml alloys but at £50 a pair for steel spacers i didnt think it was tooo bad

I presume you are trying to correct a high offset wheel you want to use??
Unless you are going realy wide and/or have negative offset, its unlikely the bearing will suffer..

I've not been very clear.
Wanting to put 15" alloys on the Tristar.
Seen some 15" C' class AMG ones that look kind of similar to the original 14".
They have a ET of 37 so ideally need a 5mm spacer but think this will make using standard bolts impossible.
Really not wanting to fit longer studs as it destroys/rips-out bearings & will make going back to original impossible.

think that your going to have to replace the front bearings and fit the longer studs which if you have access to a press will be cheaper than simon's adapters.

My merc steels are also ET37 and don't need spacers, they fit ok... no problems... The thing is YOU want to put spacers right?

My alloys are 15" Mercedes and don't have any spacers not extended wheel studs - Had them on and off the van for 10 years with no problem..

No, VW designed their alloys with a ET of 30, hence my wish/hope to get as near to that as poss. Obviously stud length isn't an issue if you're fitting steels. Personally, I'd fit some spacers if using ET37 steels, gives a nice, chunkier look.


@Syncroand101, How wide are your alloys/tyres. I'll give them a try. See how it looks.

I think they are 7" ET37, will check when I get a chance and take a pic.

ET37 steels seem to fit and work fine.. but are generally only 6.5" wide.. (i have my mudders on some et32's and an et37 as a spare) the alloys will be thicker than the steels at the mounting point so the studs may or may not be long enough..
5.5 std 14" steels are et39.. so its odd vw used et30 for 6" alloys.. (and 6"steels) essentially widening the track.. but thats prob a carry over from the 2wd's where they dont have a lot of clearance on the suspension at the front..

Personally if they clear the suspension and you dont need longer studs, then it ought to be fine.. many syncro's running wider rims out there.. depending on what tyres you fit of course...

Well, It's a good idea I also look the chunky look, but not using spacers, I prefer to modify the rim to get more ET.
