Having sold my 1980 2.0l air-cooled camper I am stiill looking for a replacement. Most water cooled campers have the 1.9l DG engine but there are a number of campers with the 1.6 TD5 70bhp engine.
Being used to the 70bhp of the 2.0l a/c perhaps I would notice no difference with the TD apart from better mpg. What sort of mpg should a TD return when driven at reasonable speeds? What do club members with
TD campers think of them?
I have read Simon Baxter's info in the wiki on the various engines fitted to T25s. It's just that I would like to get the owners opinions as well.

30-35mpg from a TD, depending upon how heavy your right foot and van is.
Get a 1.9 with a blown engine and fit a Subaru 2.2 - you will never look back.
Some people even run them on LPG which would make running costs similar to a TD, just with a boatload more power
