Good place to camp near Southampton

Post by MidLifeCrisis »

We're taking the Southampton ferry to Isle of Wight on Thursday, looking for somewhere to stay the night before prior to an early start to catch the ferry. (So closer to ferry we are, the longer we have for breakfast!)
We'll be heading down the M3; seen a few in the Winchester area (on ukcampsite) but nothing closer (that isn't a long detour off M3).

Don't need anything fancy as we'll be arriving late and leaving early - just some half decent shower/toilet facilities would be a bonus.

Suggestions anyone?? Cheers!

The nearest campsite to the ferry would be sunnydale Farm in Netley Abbey, it's about a 15 min drive to the ferry terminal. There's a nice little pub called the Cottage in Butlocks Heath, about a 10 min walk from the site.
Don't eat yellow snow.
