Here's some pictures of TigerBus in Malaysia. We took them to the southern most tip of mainland Asia and also had some fun green laning with some jeeps. They are now in Bangkok, Thailand before heading to Laos and then China. Martin and Sarah had traveled from Germany to India by land and then shipped their Syncro to Malaysia as they were unable to go through Burma.

Re: TigerBus in Malaysia
Sarah pointing to the map that we're at the southern most tip of Asia
Probably the largest gathering of Syncro in Malaysia! we only have 5 in the country and that's the only Syncro Doka! Well, for a few weeks in March we had 6
There's a Tiger in my garden!

Re: TigerBus in Malaysia
Great update.
A question or three if I may.
Before this epic journey, were you guys already in contact with the likes of the people you met up with along the way?
Was the route planned on various contacts being sought?
If contacts, and friends sought prior to the journey, how did you get to find them in the first place?

Re: TigerBus in Malaysia
TigerBus should have crossed the border to China from Laos yesterday. They will spent 3 months in China. Not much internet connection around that region, waiting for updates from them.
Mickyfin, I'm sure they did make some contacts before the trip but mostly they met people along the way. I know they had contacts in Pakistan as they donated 5 computers to a school there. Also, contact has been made in China. For Malaysia, Sarah contacted me via Facebook during planning stages in Nov (2 weeks after I bought my Syncro!). She inquired about shipping the bus from India. From there, I was introduce to Martin and he helped me with a lot of newbie syncro advice. He also help me source and brought along Eur 1000 worth of syncro parts from Germany. Martin even got his hands dirty and had them installed on my bus (no syncro mechanics here)!!! From here, they went north to Thailand where I had contacted some VW friends to meet and escort them along the way to Bangkok. Anyway, they're such a nice couple, not hard for them to make new friends.
Well, should any of you here ever visit Malaysia, give me a buzz and I'll be glad to take some time off to show you around.
