Just to keep this thread going, whilst taking off the rear wheel arch spats yesterday, I noticed this date mark, written in chinagraph. This makes today the 17th anniversary I presume of the spats being put on, a strange coincidence.
VW however have supplied me with a date of birth for the van of 7th October 1991, with the Finnish Army not using it until May 1992. I wonder what these dates actually signify. All the wheel trims have the same date, but I did not notice it on the others as covered in crud.
Time warp Escorial Green and silicon sealant under the spat, luckily no rust what-so-ever, gonna be a battle to keep it that way now. Not sure what sealant to use when replacing, probably Wurth Bond and Seal (?)
