I would expect a rubber ingredient change to be part of the story. Either that or the lift associated with the andreas springs set up is a lift too far and the boots cant take the angles.
I would gamble on 80% rubber spec change and 20% angle
I think the rubber is all of the story! My van hasn't been far on those spidan boots and is at stock height...still cracked to bits and fronts have split now on the inners...outers are perfect...
its getting a bit confused a bit here.
I think there are 3 problems.
1. The rears are perishing before they should, we know this.
2. Andreas Lidl is having problems with the rears splitting because of the height.
3. Now, Mark has a problem with front outers, which are thermoplastic, again, I believe this may have something to do with the height of the Lidl springs.

Think they might be too I remember having to change an front outer at Syncro25 which was a new one I had put on before same thing boot split all the way round the van was standard at that point
My front outers are fine...it's the perishing problem I'm having with the gkn spidan rears....I have rears on the front inner on my van as well...so can only comment on rears at present...less than 2 years old and light use...very perished and some splitting, can only be the rubber in my opinion.
Just bought a pair of vw today...not made by gkn or lobro these...but manufacturer code is FEO...211....... Part number so beetle parts? £25 each retail off vw however! Got the pair for £34 but still expensive...more details just ask if anyone's intrested.
.
2wd ones aren't a problem other than a few have perished after 3 years or so. Saying that the ones I put on my own Van 2 years ago are perfect.
211 part number is a bay part, the T3 uses a T2 (bay) part number, same as rear cylinders etc.
I will pester the warranty milf tomorrow at work and see if I can get a name for you to go on...we have a book of manufactures codes...the kits come wiith new snore washers as well,

Well.. i'd take 4 at that price in any case.. what a messy a*** of a job to do after 3 years... Just did the split one with the only boot I had in stock (thought I had at least 3)and the boot ont he other end didn't look good.. so even if it lasts the weekends fun.. I will have to change it before my big trip in 3 weeks... Might as well do the 4 of them if getting messy again..
What about "Rein" brand (supposedly continental) ????
