Guys...

I think it may be appropriate for me to shed some light on this little tale which seems to be creating quite a stir!

I work away from home alot, which is why the camper has not made its way onto Ebay yet.

When I initially put an advert on these pages, I placed it by mistake on this board, not the "for sale" section and it was moved by the mods...Fair enough.

I immediately got some interest from this board, and to be fair to Cooper, she was the first to ask to buy it, but in her messages to me she mentioned selling other vehicles first.

I also had interest from Lloydie71, who messaged and rang me, and Drviphill(?) who messaged me and text me.

I also placed a similar ad on 2 other VW friendly sites...and got some intertest from them too.

We then had about 3 to 4 inches of snow, and at the same time my work went totally mad (and its manic most days!)...This and a combination of family duties stopped DrPhil from viewing it that weekend in the flesh...I did however, send some emailed pictures to all 3 interested parties on this site....Sorry to one or two others that have since requested pics, again, my time has not alowed me to do this...But I will sort it for you.

I did ask for instructions on here how to load photo's and got replies from one or two people telling me about needing a photobucket account(or similar)...This to be honest doesn't mean much to me...Although two people have kindly offered to load some pics for me, if I mail them....I'll endevour to get that done tommorow.

During the period since I first mentioned the van on here, Cooper has PM'd me on lots of occasions...Including asking me for a photo of the camper, on numerous occasions...I had to remind her, that I had actually already sent them to her, and she had commented on how nice the van looked...So, forgive me for perhaps feeling that she might not have been what many would consider as serious?...She did then go on to tell me that they were in a different email address to the one she normally uses...But as I said, when I first sent them, she did mail back, thanking me, and admiring the van. So, perhaps you can understand my confussion?

Anyway, on Monday this week, I posted again that I hoped to get to the camper listed on ebay...Just after this, I decided to text Lloydie71 and tell him about the listing, and ask if he was still genuinely interested about buying the camper...We had previously talked on the phone, and he was keen...Unfortunately, unbeknown to me at the time...I actually sent the text to Cooper  ...Who's number is on her private messages....So, I thought I had text Lloydie, but got a call shortly after from Cooper, explaining that I had sent the text to her!...So, sorry, definately, my mistake!

Anyway, the conversation turned to Cooper being interested in my Syncro, and she went onto explain about the sale of her two cars and hopefully she would be in a position to buy the van next week sometime...(Hopefully!)

I asked her where she was, and she told me Hatfield, just off the A1...My reply was to tell her I lived in Mansfield, but the van was in storage in my friends Industrial unit, near Newark on Trent, about an hour north of Peterborough...just off the A1 (has anyone actually clicked about the Peterborough link yet  )...About 2 hours from Hatfield.

I went on tell Cooper, that I was happy enough to take a deposit on the van, and hold it for her, until next week, when she could then pay the balance (Hopefully!)....Even though she chipped me on the price!

I asked if she wanted to bring the depsit to me, and in turn view the camper?...She went on to tell me that wasn't possible, and she would be happy for me to collect the deposit, and then deliver the van to her next week and collect the balance (Hopefully)

I explained to her, that I was in Newcastle today (Tues), but with a bit of luck, I could get down to Hatfield on Wednesday.

I did actually suggest that Cooper did a HPI check on the van, for her own peace of mind, and I gave the registration details to do so...Something which she confirmed she has done....and all is well.

I then recieved a text from Cooper today, saying that she could not pay the deposit without seeing the camper, which replied that I fully understood...Which TBH, is fine by me, as I would have prefered any viewer to come and see the van before buying it (Although buying without viewing is something that they will be able to do with a buy it now, on ebay  )

So, I'd like to think, that this has at least gone a little way to putting to bed any thoughts of this bloke that has only just joined the forum, and is posting ads for a van that maybe doesn't exist!

I can confirm that the camper very much does exist, and it very much is for sale, and will (hopefully  ) be on Ebay tommorow...This is somehting that I'm pretty confident will happen, as I've asked my slightly less busy (VW club member) friend to sort out for me! :D

Just to clarify.

I'm in Mansfield, the van is near Newark (but will be brought back to Mansfield for viewing this weekend)

Neither I, nor the camper....are anywhere near Peterborough!

Cheers

Whats made you rule this one out without seeing it?

It has everything you have asked for? Looks good in the pictures and the guys post seams genuine. If i was after a RHD this would be right up my street. I'd say it was well worth a look. Once it goes on ebay theres no negotiation.
