Calling all syncro heads! Can view vw?

Heres the dilema!

Im interested in bhpdub's hi-top syncro but i am unable to view it.
He said that he has had alot of interest off here.
And said that for him to hold the van until this weekend for me id have to give him a deposit of £1000.
I spoke to him monday and he wants the deposit wednesday.
Eventhough i havent seen it yet.

He said that he will drive down and pick up the deposit but wont bring the van down. But did say when i have the rest of the money on the weekend he will drive it down for me annd pick up the balance.

Is there anyone near peterbrough to view it for me check it all over to see if its genuine.?

I'm sorry I'm not in a position to check this one out for you but please, do not give any deposit before you're even seen it. This seller has only 4 posts and is unknown to the people of this forum. This does not mean he is not trustworthy but who can tell. It may go before you get to see it, which could be a shame but there are more out there to be had...

Sorry I can't help but that sounds suspicious to me. Don't hand over any money until you have seen it.

Tell him if he wants to sell it, bring it! His ad says it will cruise easy at 65, speed limits only 70. Seems very odd to me

True but i did mention that

"as from my point of view it would be much quicker in the car, and time is something i don't have lots of. I think i am being pretty fair, offering to reduce the price, and holding the van whilst you get the money together? Then delivering it to you to collect the balance. Let me know either way? Cheers. Can't you just get a train to Peterborough, have a good look at the van and then give him a deposit if it's the one for you? I understand the seller being reluctant to hold it until the weekend, but it's not exactly an impulse buy. If it goes before you see it, hen then so be it, I don't think you should be buying unseen (or even putting a deposit down unseen)

I cant get up there and ive asked my father but he works all week late and cant do it until the weekend.

I would echo what the others have said as it sound a little iffy. Would it be that he will only drive down in his car cuz his Syncro won't make it there and back??

Off to check the date of his ad in our for sale section to see if the date relates to Coopers wanted ad.

His for sale ad was on the 9th of Feb, and in a post he published yesterday he states he's in Nottinghamshire.

Work has been a bit mad for me over the last couple of weeks, but I will make time to list the van. Hopefully Mon/Tues or Weds.
I am in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. ... Very central, just off Jn 27 M1(coming form the South) ... Jn 29 M1 (from the North)
I've been informed by one or two members that I need a photobucket account (or equivelent) to put photo's on this site?...I don't have one, so I will ask a friend to see if He can help.

I hope Im wrong in my suspect mind, but you can never been to carefulm besides, no harm in buyer beware and all that, so no offense ment towards seller.
