air cooled camper loosing power and stops, goes again ,?

I know exactly what it is. The carbs just need balanceing properly. It had me stumped the 1st time I came across this problem. If I remember correctly on the top of the left hand (as your looking at the engine from the back of the van) carb there is a balancing screw have a play with this until both carbs are sucking the same amount of air. then take your van on the same run. keep tweeking it until the problem goes away.

hi taken photo of what i think you mean , theres just a little screw , think its called byepass ideling screw , is this the one on the left . ???? THE OTHER one doesnt have a screw , cheers

Woah Hold on.

To set up these carbs you will need
1 A strobe timing light.
2 twin (matched) vacuum gauges.
3 A rev counter.

If you are prepared to go down this route, let me know and I will guide you through.

( its all there on the video)

You will still need to remove and dismantle the carbs to clean them.

Modern petrol in old fashioned carbs often leaves a crystalline deposit in the float chamber.

Don't just go poking your way in there, because you will only make things worse.

I don't know how much it would cost to get them cleaned and factory reset, there is Steve at Gasure, who would be the man to ask IMHO

I'd do it for you, but I'm more than 3 miles away

THANKS on that ,,,, sounds more like it ,,, ok how easy is it to clean carb pans jets out ,,,, dont think im capable of out else , no garages round me , so anyone living nr north wales welcome , i do have lil caravan too ... and will pay anyone near anough to do carbs for me , ???? dave
