My father used to used to be a coachbuilder and they never used spray.
with mechanical orbital sanders modern abrasive paper a lot of the work is easier

make sure you only use the satin colours for a gloss finish.

One of the guys painted his type 2 using a spray gun, not sure which one it says somewhere in there. looked pretty good to me. I'm tryin to sort out somewhere under shelter b4 i'm gonna give it a go. :P
if you can't fix it have a drink.

dude, you dont need to be under cover, i did another 2 panels on me westy today in broad daylight with 2 pac, one bug landed i got him off with tweezers, i will leave it a few days to flat it (if at all), looks pretty good. i will save myself £1200 and thats what matters. if i had a spray booth i would be happier though !!!!! if you are on one of the do`s and im there you can have a butchers(if ive finnished flatting that is!!!!)

Combicolor, the enamel that can be applied with a roller (see links in this thread) is available from lawson-his.co.uk. They mailed me today with the following info:

Combicolor is available in the full range of RAL, BS4800, & BS381C colours along with many OEM colours.

This tint range is available as follows:

1 Lt - £ 10.00 each

2.5Lt - £ 22.40 each

I am presently prepping the caravelle ready to give it a coat. It will even go straight on to rust (loose stuff removed first) and over all paint finishes so I gather. Just cos it goes on with a roller doesn't mean you end up with Artex - again see links in this thread. I'll take the windows out to do the whole thing and I'll happily post here with photos of the results. :lol:
