we will be avoiding the damaging lane and the 2ft deep "pooh" pool, interesting, great views, some fluffyness, some challenging, some standing water likely, you will need working difflocks and MTs advised

Might just tag along as Neil's co-driver - need to ask permission from the Boss and arrange/negotiate school transport first...

Re: North Wales Laning Event 1st - 3rd October
I have driven most of the lanes in North Wales a couple of years ago with Jake, Russel, and Andrew and there are some corkers. Is the one behind Betws-y-Coed on the planned route? Dunno if anybody has done this one before but its a right good un, if not quite difficult. I did it on my first proper green laneing trip out of Surrey and managed it in my petrol Doka with only a rear locker. I remember Russel saying if he had been green Laneing as long as I had back then he wouldnt have tried it Its the one with a big rock climb that has a sharp left bend and a shire drop off to the left, its quite scratchy at the top with a farm house at the end. I would love to give it another go now I am more experienced and in a different van. I also love the long sweeping one with the railway sleepers on it, I think its about 6km long and the end bit has the slippery rock that slides you sideward towards the drop off into the stream so you have to accelerate into the slide to recover on wet days (a very early lesson i was shown that didnt seem right at the time ) . Saying that best see if I can make it first.

I was too slow getting to the diary The Boss is booked for a day trip away from the offspring...it's not even her birthday! It'll have to be a day on the spanners and the kids will go hungry - again

Hopefully, Lee, you've got MT tyres and the diff locks and VC work!

Re: North Wales Laning Event 1st - 3rd October
Hi, Ive been on the 80-90 for a couple of years but just registerd as i think I'm ready to join in.
I have also put my name down for the event. I filled in the form and hope there's space, I havn't recieved payment details yet.
I am running snowies, will they do? The budget got wey out of hand sorting everything and the tyers seem to be ok in mud, well southern mud anyway. Ive not had to use them in real anger though.
Ive got strong(some may say STIFF) vc, front, and rear lockers, and a decoupler to save stress. Ive done 5k+ miles on my new engine and box with no problems, and tested it on some short sections of lanes near me, all good.
I would like to come, but I dont have much more than a shovel and a couple of 3ton rated straps.
Hope to see you all
Regards Nick

Hi Nick
I received your booking a few days ago and replied on the 12th. However you made a typo in your email address on the form, so my reply is lost in the ether somewhere. Have now re-sent it to the correct address.

Re: North Wales Laning Event 1st - 3rd October
There should be sufficient recovery gear within the group if needs be.
The idea of the weekend is to enjoy the Welsh countryside during the day and each others company in the evening!
Nothing competitive, you won't be pressurised in to doing anything that you're unsure of and we don't intentionally damage our vehicles although it is always a possibility.
And finally, we don't leave anyone behind!
Doug
PS It's a good idea to have with you a jerry can (5 litre plastic, about £3) filled with your favourite fuel.
